RealCAT - 15

TCC-25 : CAT-25

The ‘Strategic’ test series, comprising 15 tests, brought in its wake the entire gamut of learning which is the fulcrum towards achieving the ‘Pot of Gold’.
Every test was a tool to evaluate one’s ability to handle twists, turns, tweaks and twirls and needless to say even a profound platform towards developing these abilities so crucial for CAT in particular and for life in general.
As always, the profound and the paramount importance of
CCC and PPC cannot be overstated.

MACRO VIEW

The English section witnessed dominance of Reading Comprehension passages and overall was of moderate complexity. LR&DI had a majority of questions of moderate complexity. Mathematics contained questions from four topics and was of moderate-difficult complexity. All in all, the test ranged from moderate to difficult except a few simple ones scattered across the board.

MICRO VIEW

English

It contained four passages and six questions from Verbal Ability enveloping the two standard topics. Both VA and RC comprised a good range of difficult questions. A good hold on concepts and selection parameters would have helped one sail through.

Reading Comprehension

The first passage could have been bewildering. At least, two out of the four questions would have been comfortably managed after a single reading.

The second passage on ‘Jane Austen’ was another unintelligible one. Despite being short, the passage contained only one SDQ which made it difficult for the test takers to pin point the right answer.

The third passage on ‘balance of nature’ was an easy one. It was short and one sincere reading would have easily popped out answers for all the questions.

The fourth passage on ‘Economic Progress’ was quite challenging. One should have approached this passage with due caution.

Verbal Ability

At least one out of the two Parajumbles and the three Summary questions could have been answered without batting an eyelid. The remaining Parajumble and Summary would have taken some time but if the concepts would have been in place, it was doable. Text Completion questions, on the other hand, required undiluted focus and concentration.

LR & DI

Q 25 to Q 28 : This was a complex block. It was tricky and time consuming. It should have been attempted after deliberation.

Q 29 to Q 32 : This block was moderately complex. It needed some deliberation after which this block was manageable.

Q 33 to Q 36 : The block on a biscuit-making company was quite demanding and hence should have been approached with caution.

Q 37 to Q 41 : The block on Prof Shenoy was onerous. It required a good investment of time. It should have been touched with deliberation and caution.

Q 42 to Q 46 : The block on a winery manufacturing wine across nine years was simple but the calculations would have taken time. LOC was important. This block should have been attempted in the end.

Choosing to attempt Arithmetic, Basic Algebra and a few of the Geometry Family questions over Number System would have been a good choice.
