RealCAT - 14
TCC-25 : CAT-25
The biggest reason why people fail is because they give up part of the way.
MACRO VIEW
The test was moderately complex. All the sections had an equal number of questions carrying varied levels of complexity. An efficient use of selection parameters was required across all the three sections to prevent one from missing out on simple questions.
Reading Comprehension had a few manageable blocks and the same goes for Verbal Ability.
LR&DI was a little taxing, hence selection parameters, speed, and accuracy would have helped one get through this section.
Mathematics comprised questions from various topics but one would have specifically found lollipops under Arithmetic and Basic Algebra. Most of the simple ones were in the end and hence selection was critical.
MICRO VIEW
English
The section contained six questions from Verbal Ability where some of them could have been managed effortlessly. Reading Comprehension contained a few simple passages that could have been answered in a trice. Mental Gymnasium would have contributed greatly overall. It always did.
Reading Comprehension
The first passage on ‘String Theory’ was penetrable but contained a mix of both direct and indirect questions. At least two out of the four questions could have been answered without batting an eyelid. A good grasp on reading would have aided comprehensibility leading one to the answers of the remaining questions.
The second passage on ‘Perception’ wasn’t difficult to understand but the questions were indirect and hence would have acted as an impediment. This passage should have been avoided.
The third passage on ‘Indian Cinema’ was intelligible where one could have easily deduced the theme after going through the content. At least three questions would have been comfortably answered.
The fourth passage on ‘Flora and fauna’ was simple to comprehend and so were the questions. There were two direct and one title question which could have been answered in five minutes. Hence, this was doable.
Verbal Ability
All the Summary questions were effortlessly doable. Even the Parajumble questions were manageable with some efforts while 2 Text Completion questions required undivided focus and remaining one was doable.
All in all, English was moderately complex where accuracy and correct identification would have helped one achieve the desired sectional percentile.
LR & DI
The section was well balanced between Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, making an effective selection imperative. Given an presence of difficult blocks in this section one should not get stuck. Selection remains critical, as it has always been.
Q 25 to Q 29 : The block on 6 by 6 grid looked dangerously difficult, but was simple to solve. Investment of 7-8 minutes would have yeilded desired dividends.
Q 30 to Q 34 : The DI block on number of students was doable if one had strong hold over LOC concepts and Arithmetic Concepts. This was a must-do block.
Q 35 to Q 38 : This DI block was one of the easiest and one should have been begun with it. It would have fetched +12 within 6 minutes.
Q 39 to Q 42 : The block on six people living on different floors was a Data Arrangement block that would have been a little confusing because of the presence of tricky additional information, but this could have been aced in six to eight minutes comfortably, and hence should have not been left out.
Q 43 to Q 46 : This block needed sound knowledge of Higher Algebra. One should have proceeded with this block only if they are thorough with those concepts.
Mathematics
The section contained a varied range of questions. For a change there weren’t any Geometry Family questions. A scan of the section is as follows.

One should have capitalised on the simple questions from Arithmetic, Basic Algebra, and Number System. A few questions from Functions and Higher Algebra could have been managed, too.
With this we reach the end of this analysis.
Keep following the POA and believe in yourself.
Keep being placed for the final frontier (RealCAT-15).
Our support and best wishes, always.
