Analysis

RealCAT - 13

TCC-25 : CAT-25

If you want it real bad, you will get it.

MACRO VIEW

The paper was of moderate complexity. English had a good balance of both Reading Comprehension passages and Verbal Ability questions. LR&DI had a preponderance of Logical Reasoning questions. Mathematics contained questions from a few topics varying in complexity. As explained, these surprises prepare you for the worst case scenarios from both end of the spectrum.

MICRO VIEW

English

The section contained a few difficult RC questions. Verbal Ability was comparatively easy and should have been capitalised on.

Reading Comprehension

The first passage on ‘COP28 leaders’ was moderately complex and at least two of the three questions could have been answered.

The second passage on ‘Critics’ could have been an impediment because of the language employed and the best approach would have been to ignore the passage completely.

The third passage was perspicuous enough to be answered after one reading but caution had to be practiced while answering the questions as most of them were non SDQs.

The fourth passage on ‘Platinum Bhakti’ was a moderate one. At least one question could have been answered with ease. The other would have required more thought and should have been answered if one was confident.

Verbal Ability

Both the Summary questions could have been answered had the concepts been in place and the Parajumble questions though challenging, they could have been answered after due deliberation. Text Completion was doable and should have been attempted correctly.

LR & DI

The section contained a majority of DI questions. An impeccable implementation of selection parameters was required since most of the blocks were lengthy and difficult. The selected blocks had to be done with complete accuracy.

Q 23 to Q 27 : The block on five towers was doable. This should have done.

Q 28 to Q 32 : The block on Soccer World Cup was a challenging block. It was time consuming, calculation intensive, and demanding. One should not have been begun with this block.

Q 33 to Q 36 : The block on Horses was a must-do block. It required capturing the basic data in a user friendly form and then it was an easy sail.

Q 37 to Q 40 : The block on conference was another moderately complex block. It was an easy block, but presence of additional data made it slightly challenging.

Most of the questions from these topics could have been answered effortlessly. A few would have been challenging and should have been avoided to save time.

With this we reach the end of this analysis.

Keep following the POA.
