TCC-25 : CAT-25

There cannot be any excuse for not trying (enough).

MACRO VIEW

The paper comprised quite a few difficult questions with both English and LR&DI sections being tricky enough to lead test takers into getting stuck. Hence, efficient implementation of selection parameters alongside an excellent hold on Crystal Clear Concepts would have helped one sail through.

MICRO VIEW

English

The section, as usual, constituted a greater number of Reading Comprehension passages and a few Verbal Ability questions revolving around only three topics. Every passage comprised only three questions hence smart selection was imperative.

Reading Comprehension

The first passage on ‘Misconceptions’ was slightly difficult. This required strong grasp over Reading Comprehension Concepts to sail through easily.

The second passage on ‘Evolution of language’ might have been perplexing for a few test takers hence answering difficult. A wise approach would have been to leave the block if one would have not been confident.

The third passage on ‘Birth Order’ was comprehensible and the all the questions were doable. One should have probably begun with this block.

The fourth passage on ‘Jaak Panksepp’ was complex. It comprised Logical Structure Questions and Application based question which made the passage complex.

Verbal Ability

Parajumble and Text Completion questions demanded Crystal Clear Concepts. The two Summary questions could have been answered comfortably if the concepts would have been in place.

LR & DI

Both LR and DI had blocks with an equal number of questions. This section was tricky and a good implementation of selection parameters was important to get through.

Q 25 to Q 29 : The block on child welfare was not a tough nut to crack. Initially, it may look scary, but it was not that tough. It should have been attempted.

Q 30 to Q 34 : The block on 16 players was another simple block. Good reading skill would prove helpful to solve this one easily.

Q 35 to Q 38 : The block was a complex and was taxing. This block was severly time consuming, one should have attempted at the end, if time permitted.

Q 39 to Q 42 : This block on six students was a complex one. It needed deliberation, hence was time-consuming. This block should have been attempted with utmost caution.

Q 43 to Q 46 : This block on Food Court was another challenging one. It needed focus and undivided attention. One should not have begun with  this block, but this could have been definitely attempted.

Mathematics

The section was moderately complex and a quick scrutiny of the same has been done below:

One should have prioritised attempting questions from Arithmetic, Basic Algebra, Functions, Number System over attempting questions from Geometry Family and Higher Algebra. A few questions from both Higher Algebra and Geometry Family could have been solved had one’s concepts been in place.

With this we reach the end of this analysis.

Do carry out postmortem in the manner suggested.

Keep following the POA.
