MACRO VIEW

The test was moderately complex. The English section was dominated by Reading Comprehension. The questions were of mixed complexity. The Verbal Ability segment comprised 8 questions. The LR & DI section was complex but concepts along with shortcuts taught in class made it manageable. The Mathematics section had very few complex questions. Presence of variegated topics made it easier to sail through.

 

MICRO VIEW

English

Reading Comprehension

The first passage on ‘Krista Dunne’ was a moderately complex passage. It comprised Specific Detail Question, Inference Based Questions, and Logical Structure Question. A careful micro reading would have ensured complete accuracy.

The second passage on ‘William Molyneux’ was a complex passage. It comprised Specific Detail Question, Inference Based Questions and Application Based Question. At least three questions could be answered.  

The third passage on ‘Desertification’ was a simple one. All the questions were doable.

The fourth passage on ‘Mid-Victorian Reforms’ was a lollipop. It was an easy passage to score a perfect 12.

 

Verbal Ability

This segment was of moderate complexity. It comprised eight questions in total. Both the summary questions were simple. At least two Parajumble questions could have been comfortably managed. Both the Text Completion questions were doable.

 

LR & DI

Q 25 to Q 29 : The DI block on Public Limited Companies was complex. One required grasp over Number System to solve this block correctly within 10 minutes.

Q 30 to Q 34 : This block on Game of Numbers was another complex block. It required thorough understanding of the basic data and a very strong grasp on Higher Algebra to get past this block successfully.

Q 35 to Q 38 : This LR block on Flights was simple and should have been attempted. It was one of the easiest block. 12 marks could have been secured in less than 7 minutes.

Q 39 to Q 42 : This DI block on Physics Teacher was relatively easy. Extensive calculations weren’t involved, hence with Concepts in place, one could have solved this block without much hassle.

Q 43 to Q 46 : This LR block on group of friends was another easy one. It should have been attempted to get a whopping 12 marks that too with minimal investment.

This section took care of the entire gamut. The topics had almost equal representation favouring one to reach the desired goal.
