TCC-25 : CAT-25

A balancing act is what the Doctor prescribed towards being ‘Peerless’.

MACRO VIEW

The test consisted of a few easy questions, maximum moderate ones and considerable number of difficult ones. The English section was dominated by a moderate Reading Comprehension segment and a relatively easy Verbal Ability segment. Mental Gymnasium along with Reading Tests would have helped to perform decently in this section. The LR & DI section was moderately complex and dominated by Logical Reasoning. The Mathematics section had questions from multiple topics but was dominated by Arithmetic and Basic Algebra.

MICRO VIEW

English

Reading Comprehension

The first passage on ‘Residents of Lozère’ was a lollipop. Most of the questions were direct. One should have started the Reading Comprehension segment with this passage.

The second passage was not very easy to comprehend. A voracious reading habit across genres was imperative to understand the crux of the passage. Mental Gymnasium and Reading Tests would have helped to sail the boat across.

The third passage on ‘Postcolonial Literature’ was a moderate one. A good micro reading would have rolled out the answers to all the questions.

The fourth passage on ‘Human Phenomena’ was moderately complex. The questions were mostly direct and could have been easily managed once the central theme of the passage was understood.

Verbal Ability

One should have capitalized on the Verbal Ability segment. Summary and Text Completion questions were easy. At least 2 of the Parajumble questions could have been managed if practiced well. Other questions required deliberation. Mastering the Concept Classes was imperative.

LR & DI

Q 25 to Q 29 : The block on twelve houses in a housing complex was a moderate one. Seven-nine minutes of investment would have yielded a dividend of 15 marks. It was a must-do block.

Q 30 to Q 34 : The block on faculty members in a management school could have required a few minutes of deliberation. Once the basic premise of the question was understood, it could have been cracked in about six minutes.

Q 35 to Q 39 : The block on visa processing office was a complex one. It required huge amount of time and energy investment. This block should have been kept on hold and time permitting one could have tried to attend it at the end.

Q 40 to Q 44 : The block on five restaurants was an easy one. One with a good grasp of basic Arithmetic could have solved it in about six minutes. It could have been attempted.
