English

Reading Comprehension

The first passage on ‘Map-Making’ was very lucid with four direct questions, one Inference-based, and one Central Idea-based. It was a must-do passage.

The second passage on ‘The Internet and Printing Press’ was moderately complex but could have been attempted easily if Mental Gymnasium dictum was followed to a T.

The third passage on ‘Malls’ was moderately complex comprising three Specific Detail Questions, an Inference-based question, an Assumption-based question, and a Central Idea-based question. It should have been attempted.

The fourth passage on ‘Separation and Species Diversity’ was relatively complex. However, a Good Reading Habit would have kept the boat afloat.

The fifth passage on ‘Olympic Games’ was another lollipop with two direct questions and a Central Idea-based question.

Verbal Ability

Summary and Parajumble questions were relatively difficult. One question from Summary could have been managed if one has practiced well. Parajumble questions were moderately complex. Three questions were doable, others demanded an excellent reading skill.

LR & DI

Q 25 to Q 28 : The block on a fast-food restaurant was an easy block and could have been answered in about five to six minutes.

Q 29 to Q 32 : The block on entrance exams by two institutes was a taxing block and time permitting could have been attempted at the end.

Q 33 to Q 36 : The block on Simple Happiness Index indeed resulted in happiness. One would have easily scored nine to twelve marks in a span of five minutes.

Q 37 to Q 40 : The block on heights of individual platforms would have taken a few minutes to understand and then it could have been answered in a flash.

Q 41 to Q 44 : The block on an airlines company planning to start operation in a country was an onerous one. It required good investment of time. It should have been attempted at the end only if time permitted.
